While we have had Australian Shepherds since 1988 ,I breed very infrequently, and when I do breed it is to preserve the working instinct and old style Aussie that I grew up with on my grandparents' dairy, and got back into in 1988. Working dogs and working lines are a must for our program. We have sixty head of sheep, and "recreational" cattle, as we rodeo and have roping stock that we work with the dogs. Our dogs are general farm dogs, and used to gather, sort, both cattle and sheep here on our farm in Eastern Washington. We get to very few trials these days, but our dogs work for a living every day of their lives, as do their offspring.
