This was a Planned breeding by AI from one of the top ASCA stud dogs, Winslow. He is a Hall of Fame sire and was noted for his handling of stock.
Both sire and dam are very biddable, quiet workers, have great balance and keep working until the job is done. There is no quit in them which is how I like my dogs! They are gentle with their lambs and ducks and other birds, but will work cattle with the pressure needed.
Winslow took a new handler to Finals and together we won Champion Cattle dog, Champion sheep dog and Champion Duck dog titles, with a High in Trial one of those years. Pretty amazing. One year when we had a bad rainy season at our ranch, he brought our flock of sheep and horse through flooding waters to safe ground. He truly was my right hand man! Jilee is still young, but has proven to also be very handy on our ranch, helping with all the chores, and being a great bird dog as well, bringing in the chickens as well as our guinea hens! She excels in the trial arena as well, earning the belt buckle at our last Nationals with the High in Trial Open dog. Her sire, Trip, was also a High in Trial Finals dog like Winslow, garnering Champion titles in Sheep and Ducks, with a Reserve Champion title in Cattle. I have strictly working lines behind this breeding and expect they will make great companions whether in the trial arena or on a farm or ranch! I have high expectations for this litter! I have waited a long time for this cross!
I have 5 puppies, one female, 4 males. The girl is a blue merle with white feet and copper trim. Two of the boys are black tris, with white front feet, the back feet have white toes. One boy has two bits of white on the necks and a half collar, and the other has one bit of white. Both have copper on legs and face. The two blue merle boys have white feet and copper. One has white on the neck, the other doesn’t. All have varying bits of white on the nose, going up their faces.
